Anyone who suspects that a child is being abused or neglected should call the New York State Central Register Hotline and report his or her concerns at any time. The number to call is (800) 342-3720. If you suspect that a child is being abused, you can call anonymously to the New York State Central Register to report it. You do not need proof of abuse, but you should be able to explain why you suspect abuse.

If the state believes the case is credible it will refer the investigation to the local offices of Child Protective Services

If you are a teacher, counselor, medical professional or other professional who works with the public, you may be a Mandated Reporter and are required by law to report abuse.
