Under the new law, tanning beds will be off limits to children, 16 and under; plus a parent or guardian of a 16- or 17-year-old must provide written permission in person at the salon.
Megan's Law mandates uniform sex offender registration in all 50 states. This law also provides for community notification by providing the states with the discretion to disclose information about registered sex offenders. New York State's version of Megan's Law is named the Sex Offender Registration Act. The key components of this act are the registration of sex offenders, maintenance of a registry of sex offenders, and community registration regarding the location of certain sex offenders.
